Delete Your InnerCompass Data
ℹ️ What "Delete Data" Means
When you "Delete Data", you clear all your spiritual content while keeping your account. This is different from deleting your account, which removes everything including your login credentials.
⚠️ What Happens When You Delete Your Data
The following will be permanently deleted:
- All journal entries and spiritual content
- Meditation sessions and progress history
- Dream journal entries and analyses
- All activity session data
- Spiritual insights and AI-generated guidance history
- All user-generated content within the app
- Your profile preferences and settings
What Stays:
- Your account login credentials (you can still sign in)
- Your subscription (tied to Apple/Google; restored when you log back in)
Note: After deleting your data, you start completely fresh. You will need to accept terms and complete onboarding again.
How to Delete Your Data
Method 1: Through the App (Recommended)
- Open the InnerCompass app on your device
- Tap the "Settings" icon in the bottom navigation
- Scroll down to the "Actions" section
- Tap "Delete Data" (located below "Delete Account")
- Read the warning message carefully
- Tap "Delete My Data" to confirm
- You will be returned to onboarding to start fresh
Method 2: By Email Request
- Send an email to: support@askinnercompass.com
- Include the following information in your email:
- Subject line: "Request to Delete InnerCompass Data"
- Your account email address
- Your full name (as registered)
- Confirmation that you want to delete your data but keep your account
- We will respond within 48 hours to confirm your request
- Your data will be deleted within 30 days
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your data (but not your account), the following are permanently removed:
Content and Activity Data
- Guided meditation scripts and history
- Dream journal recordings and analyses
- Activity participation records
- Spiritual insights and AI-generated guidance
- Sacred synthesis reflections
- Ethical Compass sessions and guidance
- Inner Rehearsal session state and alignment snapshots
- Spirit animal selections and wisdom
- Sacred story builder stories
- Ethical Compass TTS audio files
What You Can Do After Deleting Data
- Sign in again: Your account login remains active
- Subscription restored: Your Apple/Google subscription is restored when you sign back in
- Complete onboarding: Accept terms and set up a fresh profile
- Start over: Begin building new spiritual content
Data Deletion vs. Account Deletion
Understanding the difference:
🔹 Delete Data (Recommended for Fresh Start)
- Removes all your data including profile and preferences
- Keeps your login and subscription (Apple/Google; restored on next sign-in)
- Returns you to terms acceptance and onboarding
- You can sign in and start completely fresh
🔹 Delete Account (Permanent Removal)
- Removes all your content and spiritual data
- Deletes your login credentials
- Removes your account from the system
- Cannot be undone
- You cannot sign in again

Request Partial Data Deletion
If you wish to delete specific types of data without deleting everything, you can:
- Delete individual journal entries from within the app
- Remove specific meditation sessions
- Delete particular dream entries
- Contact us at support@askinnercompass.com to request deletion of specific content types
Data Retention and Legal Compliance
The following data may be retained as required by law:
- Financial Records: Subscription purchase records may be retained for tax and accounting purposes
- Legal Compliance: Data that we are legally required to retain (e.g., for tax, accounting, or legal obligations)
Data Recovery
Data deletion cannot be undone. Once you delete your data:
- Your spiritual journal entries cannot be recovered
- Your dream analyses cannot be restored
- Your meditation progress history is permanently lost
- You will need to create new content
If you want to keep a copy of your data before deleting, you can:
- Screenshot important journal entries
- Export meditation session data (if available)
