This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our spiritual guidance mobile application.
We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, including:
Account Information: Your email address, name (optional), and password when you create an account
Profile Information: Your subscription tier, spiritual preferences, and profile settings
Trial Information: When you request a free Plus or Premium trial, we store your trial activation status, eligibility state, and expiration time (24 hours). This data is stored with your profile and is deleted when you delete your account.
User Content: Your journal entries, dream recordings, meditation sessions, and other content you create within the App
Support Correspondence: Information you provide when contacting our support team
We automatically collect certain information when you use the App:
Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
Usage Data: Which features you use, how long you use them, and your interaction with the App
Technical Information: App version, IP address, and log data for debugging and analytics
Approximate Location: When you sign in, we may infer approximate country from your connection IP, once, for internal analytics and service improvement. This data is not shown to you or used for personalization. We use a local IP-to-country database (MaxMind GeoLite2) on our servers—no third-party geolocation service, no external calls. This is approximate and derived from your network connection; we don't collect GPS-level location.
If you choose to sign in using Google Sign-In, we collect:
• Your email address (from your Google account)
• Your name (from your Google account)
• Your profile picture (optional)
We use the information we collect to:
Provide Services: Deliver spiritual guidance, meditation content, and personalized recommendations
Process Payments: Handle subscription purchases and manage your account

AWS DynamoDB: User profile data, journal entries, and spiritual content
AWS: Authentication and user management
AWS S3: Static assets and content storage

Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL
Encryption at Rest: Sensitive data is encrypted when stored in our databases

We use AWS Pinpoint for product analytics to understand how users interact with the App and improve functionality and user experience. Analytics events do not contain personally identifiable information (PII) such as names or email addresses. We collect anonymized event data (e.g., screen views, feature usage, subscription events, activity completions) to measure engagement and product health.
Analytics are gated by your acceptance of our Terms and Privacy Policy and by your opt-in preference (userAnalyticsOptIn). You can opt out by turning off analytics in App settings. Data is retained per AWS Pinpoint retention settings and is not sold or shared for advertising.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
With Your Consent: We will share your information when you explicitly request it
Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., AWS, Google Play Store, Apple App Store)

We may create and share anonymized, aggregated statistical data that cannot be used to identify individual users. This may include patterns in spiritual preferences, usage trends, or other statistical insights derived from user data. Any such data will be completely anonymized and contain no personally identifiable information. This data may be used for research, academic, or commercial purposes.
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
• View your personal data stored in your account
• Update your profile information at any time
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete specific content or journal entries
• Request deletion of your entire account and associated data
• We will process deletion requests within 30 days
• Manage your subscription and payment preferences

• Disconnect third-party authentication (e.g., Google Sign-In)

InnerCompass is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.
We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you. If you delete your account, we will:
Immediate Action: Your authentication credentials are deleted immediately, preventing any new logins
Within 30 Days: All personal data stored in our databases (DynamoDB) is permanently deleted
Within 30 Days: All user-uploaded content and associated files (S3 storage) are permanently deleted
Legal Retention: We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
• Financial transaction records (for tax and accounting compliance)
• Data subject to legal holds or ongoing litigation
• Information required for fraud prevention and security compliance
Anonymized Data: Usage data that has been fully anonymized (cannot be linked to you) may be retained for analytical purposes
